Community Reports Should Not Disappear After Submissions Close

Alberta Community Choice Vaping Alliance says the closed submission period should lead to visible community reporting, not silence.

The submission window closed

the Economic Future committee page says written submissions closed August 17 after the committee agreed on June 29 to seek them. The next public value comes from summarizing what Albertans said.

A community summary should include

  • Common concerns from parents and schools.
  • Retail compliance issues raised by stores.
  • Consumer displacement and online-supply warnings.
  • Rural and small-community differences.

Why October is a good time

the meeting transcripts page now lists May 27, June 29, and September 24 Bill 208 review transcripts. The public record is big enough to organize into themes before the next meeting is scheduled.
